Okay, so you have a 9, 10, or 11-year old that says they’re interested in volleyball. You start looking into opportunities and find some options. Before you decide though, you want to find a program that can satisfy one or more of the following 4 criteria.

One, you want the opportunity to be welcoming. You want your child to be around good people that make them feel like they belong.

One of the first things our coaches will do is welcome your child to the league and begin introducing them to the coaches and other players. Volleyball is a team sport and fostering relationships is important.

Two, you want your child to have the opportunity to explore the game and have fun.

One of our primary objectives for this age group is to exercise patience and encourage your child throughout the process. If your child is having fun, the more likely they are to want to play again.

Three, although you want your child to have fun, you also want them to build a good foundation. If they continue to play, you want them to be prepared for what’s ahead.

Ka Ulukoa’s entire program is predicated on the concept of preparing athletes for the next level. This means we take a long-term outlook on child development and focus on making sure your child is prepared for whatever lies ahead. Whether it’s preparing for the next Rec League, school volleyball, or club volleyball, we’ll be doing our best to make sure they’re ready for their next level.

Four, at this age, you want the time commitment and cost to be reasonable.

This is exactly why we created the Rec League. This is a 7-week program (instead of 30 weeks like our club teams) that’s a fraction of the cost. It really is the best way to introduce your son or daughter to the game. You’re getting a reputable organization to work with your child. An organization that has a history of helping athletes be better when they leave then when they arrived.

We are definitely proponents of seeing commitments through, but we also understand if you feel the program isn’t a good fit or if your son or daughter just isn’t interested in being at the gym. With that said, we provide a 14 day money-back guarantee on our Rec League. Essentially, you can attend the first 4 practices obligation free. If you’re not satisfied with the program for any reason, we’ll refund your money no questions asked. However, once we have the 5th practice session, the registration fee is non-refundable.
